The Ayrshire Roads Alliance as part of its ongoing programme to improve the condition of the road network will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on three sections of the A713 Ayr to Dalmellington Road.
To carry out these works safely and efficiently and to protect the roads operatives and the travelling public we will require to close two of these sections and implement additional Traffic Management measures.
The proposed restrictions, timescales and affected areas are as follows;
Section 1 – A713 Polnessan (WEEKEND ROAD CLOSURES ONLY) This section will be closed on weekends 10th,11th,17th & 18th August 2019 on each of the four days from 7am until 6pm with the road opening for 1hr from approximately 12 noon until 1pm each day to allow a window of opportunity for motorists to travel through the site.
Please Note – Motorists travelling South on the A713 to the Steam Train Events at the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre, Waterside on Sundays 11th & 18th August will use the undermentioned diversion route to access the Centre.
Section 2 – A713 Patna to Waterside (EVENING ROAD CLOSURES ONLY) This section will be closed each night from 7pm until 6am each morning, from Mon 12th August until Wed 21st August (or until works are complete whichever is earliest). No Weekend Evening Road Closures will be implemented.
A Signed Diversion Route For Both of the Above Road Closures will be via A713 to B742 Coylton, A70 through Coalhall, to A76 Dettingen Roundabout, Cumnock to New Cumnock, B741 to Dalmellington, Broomknowe, Gateside Road, before re-joining the A713 and vice versa.
Section 3 – A713 Carsphairn Road, Dalmellington – (CONVOY WORKING ONLY – ROAD REMAINS OPEN), the resurfacing of this section is proposed to commence on Mon 19th August until Fri 30th August, when signed accordingly.
No Waiting Restrictions, will be implemented on the A713 on Bellsbank Road and Carsphairn Road.
A Banned Right Turn, will be implemented to prevent vehicles turning right from Merrick Drive Bellsbank in to the work site on Carsphairn Rd.
It is hoped that the resurfacing work will be completed within the timescales stipulated, however the work is weather dependent and any unforeseen difficulties could result in a delay.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance apologises for any inconvenience caused during these essential works.
