Following a rigorous selection process, The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, has been selected as a finalist in the APSE Winter Maintenance category of the Innovation Awards 2019, for their “Partnership Working Winter Resilience Scheme” submission. The APSE awards are extremely competitive, with organisations taking part from across the UK.
Each year we write to all community councils encouraging and assisting them to form local volunteer groups to carry out winter resilience activities within their local areas. To date Ayrshire Roads Alliance have over 38 community led winter resilience groups spread throughout the East and South Ayrshire Council areas, which is increasing year on year.
We feel strongly that all the hard work put in from 2015 has been extremely worthwhile and rewarding for the Council and local communities who now have winter resilience group volunteers actively contributing to safety related issues within their local areas.
The winners of the APSE award will be announced at the awards presentation evening, held in Blackpool on Wednesday 20 March 2019.
