Coyle Bridge on the A70 near Coal Hall spans the Water of Coyle.
The structure needed some maintenance and changes to the Parapets to bring them up to current standards. There was also deep scour on the bank close to the structure.
We repaired the road drainage, installed rock armour at the wing walls to protect the bridge and built new sandstone parapets.
We are still working on this structure starting with scour repair and drainage works in early 2021 and moving on to the parapet work in April. We’ll shortly be repairing pointing to make sure the bridge can last many more years.
