The Ayrshire Roads Alliance will be carrying out essential resurfacing and road safety improvement works on the A70 between Cumnock and Ochiltree. Weather permitting, the works are scheduled to start on Monday 16 February and last for up to two full weeks.
During the works, traffic will be managed via a vehicle convoy system, and there will be two weekend road closures:
8am Saturday 21 to 6pm Sunday 22 February, and
8am Saturday 28 February to 6pm Sunday 1 March
These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of road users and our operatives.
Signed diversion routes will be in place during the works via A70 – Mill Street – Barony Road – Darnlaw View – Mauchline Road – A76 – A70 and vice versa.
Access to Dumfries House will be via the delivery entrance and exit.
Motorists should be aware that delays are expected and are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
