Resurfacing works are taking place on Ayr Road, Cumnock between Tuesday 7 April and Sunday 26 April.
Due to the extent of the resurfacing, these works will take place in three phases with the road remaining closed throughout the duration of each phase:
Phase 1: Ayr Road Mini Roundabout to Aldi. Proposed to take place from 8am Tuesday 7 April until 6am Monday 13 April.
Phase 2: Mini Roundabout at Ayr Road junction New Bridge Street. Proposed to take place from 8am Saturday 11 April until 6am Monday 13 April.
During phases 1 and 2 there will be no access to or from Hearth Road at its junction with Ayr Road
Phase 3: Dettingen Roundabout to junction B7046. Proposed to take place from 8am Saturday 18 April until 5pm Sunday 19 April.
The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions, updates will be published on the Ayrshire Roads Alliance Facebook and X pages.
Access for emergency services will not be affected and access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians out with the working zone will be maintained whenever possible and safe to do so.
Diversion routes
A signed diversion route will be in place for each phase:
Phase 1: A70 Ayr Road, B7083 Glaisnock Street to Glaisnock Road to A76 Skerrington Roundabout to A76 Dettingen Roundabout before re-joining the A70 and vice versa.

Phase 2: during works at mini roundabout: New Bridge Street to Tanyard, B7083 Auchinleck Road, Main Street Auchinleck, Mauchline Road to Templeton Roundabout, A76 to Dettingen Roundabout before re-joining A70 Ayr Road.
During phase 1 and 2 high sided vehicles will leave Main Street, Auchinleck and divert via B7036 Church Hill to Barony Road to C62 Pennylands Road to Templeton Roundabout to join main diversion route.

Phase 3: during works at Dettingen Roundabout: A70, Ayr Road to Glaisnock Street, Glaisnock Road to A76 Skerrington Roundabout, A76 Dettingen Roundabout and vice versa.
