Overnight closure of Blackburn Road Car Park to begin from 26 October

South Ayrshire Council is advising residents and visitors that Blackburn Road Car Park in Ayr will be closed overnight from Monday 26 October.

The car park will be closed each day between 6.30pm and 7.00am, with barriers locked during these hours.

The temporary measure which will be in place until March 2027 forms part of ongoing efforts, to improve safety and reduce anti-social behaviour.

Motorists are being urged to plan ahead and ensure their vehicles are removed from the car park before the 6.30pm closure time. Any vehicle remaining within the car park after the barriers are locked will not be able to leave until the car park reopens at 7.00am the following morning.

Additional measures being introduced include enhanced CCTV coverage and the installation of traffic calming features within the car park.

The council is working closely with Police Scotland, Ayrshire Roads Alliance and security partners to support the introduction of the new arrangements.
